DTP / Data Transfer Instructions

To make DTP work the most efficient and fluent, the following instructions should be followed. Marvaco has right not to accept the original data files that are not within the following specification.

Data Transfer

• e-mail to the unit addresses on the left (max. 20 Mb)
• ftp (over 20Mb files): ask for your ftp username and password from Marvaco
• CD/DVD/USB-drive
• Marvaco Web File Manager - if needed, ask more details from Marvaco

Mac-software in the Latest Update-versions

• Graphic software: ArtPro, Illustrator
• Image processing: Photoshop

Not preferred, but applicable: Hi-Resolution PDF, QuarkXPress, InDesign, CorelDraw, Freehand.

Basic instructions

• Open file format (design and pictures separately)
• 1:1 size
• Colour print or PDF attached
• Texts and translations completed (converted and unconverted)
  • unconverted version
  • converted version (texts converted to graphics)
• All used fonts attached
• All elements of the job should be editable regarding the size, colour, shape and rasterization line density
• All external elements (pictures) should be linked to the job (not embedded)
• Images as .eps, .tiff or .psd form (not compressed)
• Image resolution min. 300 dpi

Additional instructions

• Number of colours announced
• Printed colour proofs or references attached (e.g. Pantone C or U -numbers)
• All additional not work related extra files removed
• 100% data delivery at a time (=all data delivered once), no additional updates
• Your contact information attached

PDF proof acceptance instructions

• Adobe Acrobat 8.0 or later version to be used
• Overprint viewing mode on (to see the overprint of colours)
• Comments, corrections and instructions to be made on PDF
