RWK Finland and Marvaco to Flexo Tech Award finals

RKW Finland Ltd shall receive yet another award at a prestige Flexo Tech Awards printing competition with its partner Marvaco Ltd.
This time recognition comes to a specifically Finnish printing project. RKW Finland has printed new packaging for the Hartwall Lapin Kulta brand. Hartwall has renewed the packaging, in cooperation with the awarded Finnish advertising agency 358, into a totally new direction. Marvaco has participated in this project providing technical support to Hartwall and the agency right from the beginning.
From the beginning, it has been clear to Hartwalls Lapin Kulta -brand Product Manager Pekko Koski, to create exceptionally visual appearance without compromising quality.
RKW Finland has developed a special mattfoil which enables extremely high-quality printing and matt –effect for shrink-wraps efficiently and imposingly, without extra varnishes or other treatments. This new mattfoil plays a significant part in this Lapin Kulta -project, creating the effect.
Marvaco has manufactured the printing plates using inhouse tailored Full HD Flexo –technology. Full HD is a superior technology in modern flexo printing. Marvaco Customer Service Manager Tapio Alanko states, that this job has been printed with process colors, and this same efficient process color –technology is behind all of the recent flexo printing competition success. Full HD –technology brings added color space and consistent and uniform ink surfaces to increase visual excellence.
During last year, RKW Finland and Hartwall have been forerunners in implementing the Marvaco Full HD full resolution –technology into consumer packaging. This job also includes, for the first time, the specifically printing press tailored Marvaco SuperWhite printing plate for applying white printing ink. This unique technology enables transferring white ink onto the substrate with no pinholing, which means a more uniform and solid white surface, states Customer Service Manager Tomi Havia.
In October we will find out how high Finnish flexo printing will be ranked this year. RKW Finland has been already awarded previously several times. The latest awards, in spring 2014, at the American FTA Excellence Awards, were First Place and Best Of Show, together with Marvaco.
For Marvaco, this is the 30th time at the podium in international competitions in the 21st century.
